With an invitation
from 1325 Sweden operational organization, Wli's
director, Dr.Sundus abass presented a lecture
regarding the challenges Iraqi women face on the
security level, (prosperity of applying the contents
of resolution 1325) on the hall of Stockholm
cultural center in Sweden, Nov.17, 2011.
Wli's director also

leadership institute participate in the memorial of

Women's Leadership Institute
participated in the memorial of the church saedat
alnagat which was held at the School of the
algomhoreah in the Karrada district.

WLI has conducted a consultative
meeting regarding the mechanisms of activating the
Security Council Resolution 1325\Year 2000.
As a
continuity to the program of activating security
council resolution 1325 in Iraq, WLI has conducted a
consultative meeting for the Grope of Moving the
Decision which consist of representatives from
Ministers Council, Internal Affairs Ministry, Woman
Ministry, Civil Society Organizations and Media in
addition to a representative from the Sheit
Endowment to study the suggested work plan and the
work mechanisms for the coming three months phase.
WLI carry on an advocacy campaign
towards promoting educating girls in Sulaimaniya
province
Under the
slogan (Deprivation me from educating
….is…Deprivation me from life) and with the support
of UN woman, WLI has carry on an advocacy campaign
to promote the role of local governments, community
and media to encourage educating girls and to limit
the phenomena of leakage from educating among
females, within the project of rehabilitation mud
schools and friend schools for child in Sulaimaniya
province as a first phase in June 2011.
 
WLI
participation in the celebration of the Iraqi Child
Day Festival
With the
invitation of childhood care body in the ministry of
labor and social affairs (MoLSA) and under the care
of his Excellency Mr.Nasar Alrubaiy and the Minister
of Sport and Youth Mr.Jasim Mohamed, WLI has
participated in attending the celebration of Iraqi
child day festival under the slogan (our children
are municipality in our necks) on July, 14, 2011 on
the hall of Youth theater in Wazeriya.
During the
celebration WLI has awarded Dr. Abeer Alchalaby,
director of childhood care body as an expression of
wli's faith in the body efforts to draw a shining
smile on the Iraqi children faces.
Festival
also includes submitting some gifts to orphan
children, art performances and Iraq love songs made
by children from orphan houses.

symposium about forced and early marriage
WLI\ Basra's office – implemented in May \10\2011
symposium about forced and early marriage, the
participants were representatives of Sunni and
Shiite endowment and Tribal sheikh's commission and
also members from Basra council province. The
participants discussed the importance of reducing
early and forced marriage and it impacts on society
through increasing divorced cases and family
disintegration.
WLI's
held series consultative meetings
WLI held
consultative meeting in April \ 28\2011 for numbers
of business women in Iraq, commercial companies
owners, numbers of activists civil community
organization and UNWOMAN representative to discuss
the most importance challenges and difficulties
which business women faced in Iraq and also discuss
an idea of form business women collected . Many
ideas was presented about an initiatives then it
evaluated
After that second
meeting held in May \5\2011 in order to discuss the
most importance outputs of the first session and
urged efforts to form an independents business women
center.
WLI's held
consultative for research team in May\4\2011 to
prepare national strategic for rising women in Iraq.
The participants were numbers of academies,
university professors, numbers of activists, UNWOMAN
representatives as monitoring meeting. They discuss
methodology, resources of data collections and time
framed for implementing.
Visit to AlAshaar and Ejnadien secondary schools for
girls in Basrah.
Under the slogan "Iraqi woman are building and
tender" in occasion of International woman day in 8th
March with supporting of UNFPA, WLI/Basrah's
office visited Ejnadien and AlAshaar secondary
schools for girls. They presented congratulations
and blessings and also bouquets of flowers and
sweets to teachers and pupils.
They also distributed many printings and brochures
and poster which is printed by WLI and supported
from UNFPA .they targeted 200 pupils girls from
Ejnadiean school and 300 pupils girls from AlAshaar
school.

March-8th-2011
Under the slogan "Iraqi woman are building and
tender" in occasion of International woman day in 8th
March with supporting of UNFPA, WLI visited AlQedeis
secondary school for girls in 52 area . They
presented congratulations and blessings and also
bouquets of flowers and sweets to teachers and
pupils.
They also distributed many printings and brochures
and poster which is printed by WLI and supported
from UNFPA
Symposium
in Basrah about woman right in perspective of
constitutional
Under the slogan "woman granted roots for creativity
and confidence" WLI – Basrah office held carving and
Arabic writing in Petite Art collage hall in
17-3-2011 within series activities that are WLI held
it for revival international woman day . Mr. Ghanem
(member of Basrah Province Counsel) and dean of art
collage opened the gallary; one of participants was
Dr. Jaefer (member of Basrah Counsel Province) and
the other were deans of collage, heads of
departments, number of activists, and pupils. In
addition that expanded presence from journalist and
media.
In
gallery produced tens of works for pupils of collage
and institute of Petite Art. All of it deal with
reality of woman in Iraq and also include works hand
for women.

office held free paintings gallery in occasion of
woman day
WLI
– Basrah office held free paintings gallery within
their series activities in occasion of international
woman day in 15-3-2011 in Agnadeen secondary school
for girls with participated of 30 pupils' girls and
two teachers as supervisor .the idea of gallery
based on current free painting. This gallery goes on
3 days with 3 sessions. Pupils painted on library
hall and then they presented their paintings finally
the gallery opened by directress.

– Basrah office held symposium in perspective of
constitutional in 10-3-2011 on Arabic Gulf Studies
center's hall in Basrah university. Miss Herman
Kadhem Saeed has been involved in the management of
the symposium who talk about woman and her right ,
also Dr. Tareq AlAthary and Dr. Jaefer ALDaragy who
deal with Iraqi constitution and what its paragraph
included for woman rights .
The
participants were 75 women and men . one of them was
Mr. Aqeel (member of Basrah Province Counsel) and
the other were heads of departments, number of
activists, and pupils. In addition that expanded
presence from journalist and media.
