Young Women Leadership Academy

This program aims at supporting young women to enable them to be leaders in their positions and specialties. Group of ladies have been selected from different colleges to be trained about different issues like

Democracy and civil society

Leadership skills

Human rights

Islam and democracy

Women politics

Basic concepts about constitution and electing systems, and many other issues.

 

 

    

 

         YWLA training session/ Basra

  From the 21st to the 13th of Aug. 2009, WLI/ Basra office implemented five training sessions of the second part of Young Women Leadership Academy program, aims at creating leadership women in their position, support them and strengthen their capacities, on WLI/ Basra office’s hall, the sessions covered the following topics

·        Time Skills Management

·        Leadership skills

·        International Economic Relationships

 

          

The final two sessions were decided to be the conclusion of the training where the students would choose different topics and would review it the sessions; they selected numerous topics like the relationship between husband and wife, the surrounding environment for woman and the marginalization that she face, and other topics and each student would be given a period of time and would be write down notes, negatives and positives on her review and also be reviewed. At the end of the training session, students presented a play about the suffering of women and then Miss Dena Abedul Razaq, WLI/ Basra office director has distributed certificates for their participation in YWLA program, after that the students expressed their happiness wishing to have more courses of (YWLI), because, they became stronger, and more courageous. Each one gave her opinion about the training sessions, and the results were very good. Finally, the girls proved that they are really well- trained to be leadership women, to have a promising future.
