BACK_ WLI Annual Conference in Baghdad   WLI has conducted its annual conference in Baghdad on Monday Dec, 3, 07 under slogan "Women of Iraq are the hope of Iraq" to study women status in Iraq with the participation of number of Iraqi women movement members of governorate council pioneers, local council and academics in addition to NGO'S representative and CSO directors, activist, in the field of human rights and reporters. Together participants remembered the anniversary the pass away Dr. Nazeha Aldulaimy, her struggle and death away of her country. WLI didn’t ignore the role of the women movement pioneers and their history and endless giving, also the importance of awarding them to continue their struggle in order to state Iraqi women rights through establishing the state of law.                   Collegiate young women training Erbil / 12-16 August, 2007   With the attendance of 25 young women from different colleges, they get three – days training that include three main topics presented by WLI"S director Dr.Sundus Abass from 11 morning to 4.30 afternoon. The trainer used the scientific preview style by using manifesting tools and shared the participants through exploring their point of views and information about the international treaties; also she used the practical style through arranging work groups to discuss Iraqi women issues and its connection to the international efforts.   1st Day, August, 12, 2007 (woman rights from international treaties prospective) -         Explaining the basic concepts for the meaning of international efforts to state human rights and especially woman right. -         Reviewing international efforts and following them through dealing with woman issue since the last century and till now. -         Studying CEDAW and other protocols -         Iraq's stand towards the treaty -         Security council resolution 1325 -         Quota and its impacts Participants were interested and really involved in the topic although they have mentioned at the end of the day that it is the first time that they get these tips, also the style of the trainer has encouraged them to communicate.        2nd Day August, 14, 2007 (working within a team, Individual work and thinking skills)  -         Team definition -         Active team qualifications -         Difference between team and individual achievements -         How to invest team inner energies -         Why working within a team -         Thinking definition -         How to develop our mental abilities to solve problems -         Thinking types        3rd Day August, 16, 2007 (Negotiation skills)   -         Negotiation meaning -         What makes us negotiate -    Negotiation stages: preparing, negotiating, evaluation           Obstacles facing academics during the current stage WLI has conducted a workshop titled (obstacles facing academics during the current stage) this event hold on the hall of oil culture center, the lecturer was Dr. Bushra Alubaidy PhD in international law, master in college of law ,Baghdad university. The workshop was attended by distinguished personalities most of them has PhD in different aspects (Art ,Literature ,economy, Policy religion sciences and Faqah) also attended by political personalities who were interested in the subject of the workshop one of them was Dr. Tahseen Alshekly, Mr. Prime minister consulter and Dr. Thair Alamery , independent Iraqi statement congregation. Participants who attended this workshop were 33 persons.20 women and 13   A- Working on organizing a regional conference to figure out the proper    treatment for the challenges facing the academicism. B- Providing colleges deans with body guards to rescue them from kidnapping or killing, and this could be for the university masters also considering them a scientific fortune     Baghdad workshop July, 18, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Baghdad in the hall of Iraqi woman league on Wednesday, July, 18, 2007. it was attended by 40 persons ,28 F and 12 M ,Mrs. Zainab Khaleel ,governorate council member attended the workshop ,she talked about the mechanizes of applying NR project on land of reality and the obstacles that we face to solve the critical situation in Iraq. The lecturer was Mr. Najah Fakry member in the administrative body in the environment protection association. Baghdad workshop  July, 22, 2007 1- WLI has conducted a workshop on National Reconciliation on the hall of Iraqi women league; the workshop was such a pulpit to raise the thoughts and comments of academic elements about this national project considering it a positive step that every Iraqi is ambitious to witness its success. Wokshop started by welcoming participants who were 33 persons (17 women and 16 men). The Lecturer was Mrs. Alyaa' Husian, master in the college of law, she thanked WLI for conducting such activity     Amara workshop July, 6, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Amara–Maissan in women congregation hall on July, 6 titled (National reconciliation and spreading culture for peace and forgiveness) this workshop was attended by 31 participants (female and male), Mrs. Suham Al-Uqaily governorate council member has attended the workshop. WLI has implemented its second workshop in Amara governorate / women congregation hall on the ninth of July,9,2007. The workshop was attended by 31 persons, also attended by Mrs. Aliya Husain, governorate council member, who talked about the role WLI plays regarding achieving NR through workshops and seminars and woman's role to achieve NR.   Nasriya workshop July, 10, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Nasriya on economist's hall on July, 10 titled (National reconciliation and spreading culture for peace and forgiveness), workshop lectures' were Mrs. Basima Al-Abady governorate council member and Dr. Mohamed Kairy this workshop was attended by Mrs. Fawzia Jwad governorate council member. Nasriya workshop July , 23 , 2007 WLI has contact a workshop titled NR in the hall of Iraqi women Institution in the Thi-Qar on Monday, July, 23, 07 with the attendance of number of civil society activities from different intellectual trends beside Thi-Qar governorate council member. It was attended by 30 women. Governorate council member, Mrs. Amna Husian Mahdy, Maha Al-Hasany director of Al-Zahraa community and Mrs. Hashmeya Salim director of women "fadak community", have attended the workshop. The workshop was attended by 22 women, it attended by Mrs. Damia'a Al-tamimy director of handicap children org, Mrs. Salama Al-Sakban director of woman justification org. and Mrs. Hileen Raheem the director of family care org.; media that covered the activity was Al-Dewaniya newspaper.   Babil workshop July, 11, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop on National Reconciliation and culture for peace in Babil governorate / Hilla city on the hall of Hilla trade chamber .The workshop was attended by 35 persons 17 F and 18 M; also it was attended by Mrs. Thekra Salih Alwan, governorate council member, Mr. Luay Muhamed executive director of human rights ministry office / Babil department.            Participants demanded WLI to hold the next workshop about applying the NR project on reality. Mr. Ali Al-Sa'dy, director of Babil org. for human rights, said "I think NR might fail because there are number of political entities that support terrorism".   Babil workshop Monday July, 16, 2007  WLI has contacted a workshop on National Reconciliation and culture for peace in Babil governorate – Hilla city on the hall of human rights association in Monday July 16, 2007. The workshop was attended by 38 persons (7 F and 31 M); it was attended by Amira Al-Bakry deputy of the governorate council head and Rabab Fakir Halab governorate council member. The workshop's lecture was Mr. Muhanad Abid Al-Hady Salman, university master. It was attended by 33 persons, 15 women and 18 men, also attended by Mrs. Basima Abd Alameer, governorate council member and Mr.  Salih Alhelwa, head of reporter's league in Najaf governorate. The workshop was covered by Almada newspaper and Alsunbula magazine.   Najaf workshop July, 14, 2007  WLI has conducted its second workshop in Najaf governorate on the National Reconciliation and culture for peace. The workshop was attended by 37 persons, 19 women and 18 men, also attended by the following governorate council members, Mr. Munther Al-Hashimy, Mrs. Basima abd Alameer, Mrs. Ameera Ali Al-Kenany and Mrs. Batool Faruq Muhamed who presented a lecture on NR and what are the main important factors to achieve the NR. Participants were so glad to attended WLI's activities especially this one because it was covering so vital topic.   Semawa workshop July, 20, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop on National Reconciliation in Semawa governorate-Hall of women Rafidain org. The lecturer was Mrs. Lemyaa Muhamed Ali, master in collage of education, Participants were 32 persons, 27 women and 5 men. Dr.Sanaa Abd Ali, governorate council member attended the workshop. The lecturer was Mr. Safaa Abd Alrahman, trainer in human rights field. WLI's facilitator started the workshop by welcoming Participants, and then he talked about WLI and its activities regarding raising the Iraqi woman reality.   Tow workshop in Karbala WLI has conducted a workshop under topic of (National Reconciliation and spreading culture for peace and forgiveness) in Karbala on july,16,2007 and july,22,2007 this first activity was attended 29 person 7 men 22 woman and second activity was attended 25 woman, governorate council member Mrs.Kadega Fathal Hussain has attended the workshop.     Deyala workshop July 15, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Deyala governorate Baladruce district in July 15, 2007 Reconciliation and women role to achieve it. The workshop was attended by 30 personal (16 women and 14 men), also attended by the lawyer Zanab Kadabish municipality member in charge for committee of women and child. Local Al-Noor broadcast and Al-Etihad newspaper covered the activity. The lecturer was the lawyer Abd Al Majeed Ebrahim; through his lecture he raised many suggestions on NR and how to achieve it and in Iraq to serve the citizen. Through the discussions, lawyer Zainab confirmed that NR is a fruitful step if it is build on strong base and if it started from the political bodies. She confirmed also that women participation in this issue is so important because women are half of the society.     Deyala workshop July 19, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop on NR in Deyala / Khaniqin district on the hall of Kurdistan women union in July 19, 2007. The even lasts for four hours and attended by 28 participants, three men and 25 women, also attended by Mrs. Amal Shukur Tayab, the governorate council member who confirmed that NR is urgent in Iraq during the current phase because Iraq has multi sectors, nationalities and minorities, that's why we need to reduce the distance among our visions through NR but this should be done between political bodies, just then it will be successful step if it get away from personal advantages.   Salahddin workshop July, 21, 2007  WLI has conducted a workshop in Salahddin -Salahddin net for civil society organization. Under topic of (National Reconciliation and spreading culture for peace and forgiveness). The lecturer was Awatif Salih Mohamud, governorate council member. The period of workshop was four hours. Participants were 30 person, 23 women and 7 men    Salahddin workshop July, 22, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Saladin governorate under topic of "National Reconciliation role to achieve peace, in Iraqi women org. in Tikrit university, the period was four hours, the participants that attended the workshop were 30 persons 23 women and 3 men. The lecturer was Dr. Najiha Mohamud Dawood, master in Tikrit University, Mr. Nawal Salih Mahmud governorate council member has attended the workshop, she talked about NR and women role through the history but the wrong vision towards her made women away from the political field. Women In Saladin are working hard to make the role of women so important to state peace.   Wasit workshop July, 16, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Wasit governorate, Kut city, and independent congregation that on July, 16, 2007 titled (National Reconciliation and spreading culture for peace and forgiveness, from morning to 1.00 afternoons. This workshop was attended by 31 persons, 12 M and 19 F. the lecturer was Mr. Muhanad Al-husian, media that covered the activity: Baghdadiya channel, Tareek Al-Saaband Sabah newspaper. Governorate council member Mrs. Afraa Jameel Abass attended the workshop. The workshop started by welcoming participants and then lecturer stared his lecture by talking about violence and how is the NR is the only way to eliminate violence ,also the responsible is laying on CSO to spread sprit of peace and forgiveness among all the Iraqis while women is handling the greater part of responsibility through raising her children. Participants were so actives through discussion also they expressed their interest.       Wasit workshop July, 24, 2007  WLI has conducted a workshop in Wasit /Kut / independent congregation hall, National Reconciliation and spreading culture of peace was the point on discussion. The period of the workshop four hours (9.00 – 1.00 am)  Workshop started by welcoming participants (28 persons, 18 M and 10 F), then the lecturer (Mr. Muhanad Ali Husian) started his lecture by talking about NR and the big role that should be played by CSO to spread spirit for peace and forgiveness, he mentioned that women organizations are playing great role through adopting NR project and the government should take it's responsibilities to insure safety for all the Iraqis.   Mosul workshop July, 26, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Mosul governorate on National Reconciliation, in Hamdaniya district – Hall of developing woman center. It started from 4 afternoons to 8.30 evening and attended by 32 person, 15 women and 17 men. Media that covered the workshop, Alyaqin newspaper and all Shabak magazine. It was also attended by members from Hamdaniya district council.  The Workshop started by welcoming participants then the lecturer, lawyer Said Salim Sultan started his lecture by talking about National Reconciliation and the bad conditions of the city as the students have left their colleges and the employees have left their jobs. Some of the participants mentioned that they had attended many conferences on NR and they came out with final statements, but are these statements have been activated.   Mosul workshop July, 27, 2007     WLI has conducted a workshop in Mosul governorate Bertula district Assyrian Democracy Movement hall under the line National Reconciliation and culture for peace. Workshop started by welcoming participants and giving identification for WLI, its goals and achievements. The lecturer was the lawyer Said Salim Sultan. Media that covered the workshop, Alyaqen newspaper and all the Shabak newspaper. It was attended by 27 persons, 17 women and 10 men, also attended by Nenava governorate council member. Participants were so active through their discussions due to critical conditions Mosul passes.   Karkuk workshop July, 25, 2007  WLI has conducted a workshop on NR in Karkuk governorate. It was attended by 53 person, 22 women and 31 men. The lecturer was Thikra Abd ALhafud, an activist in human rights and woman's rights field. She talked about NR and its necessity and woman role to achieve it. This activity was also attended by Mr.Jawad Aljanaby, governorate council member, Mr. Awad Muhamed, representative from Youth administering, Sayal Ebraheem, and director of "Sent Klement University" and Mrs. Amal Al-hashemy, director of "Shaheed Almehrab" institution. This event was covered by so many media, Hurra Channel, Baghdadiya, Hurriya, Belady, Baba Kurkur magazine, Al Faisal newspaper.   Karkuk workshop July, 28, 2007 WLI has conduct a workshop in Karkuk governorate in July 28, 2007 , hall of Sulaimaniya palace hotel. The lecturer was Mrs. Thekra Abd Alhafud ,an activist in human and women rights field. She talked about NR and its necessity in Karkuk, also she talked about women role through ages. The workshop was also attended by Mr. Awad Muhamed and Mr. Asam Rasheed director of Hanjeer Kara who thanked WLI for conducting such activities that deal with women role in political participation.   Erbil workshop July, 15, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Erbil governorate Banslawa district on National Reconciliation and spreading culture for peace. It was attended by 27 person, 23 woman and 4 men, also attended by director of Banslawa women union, Mrs.Jamila Kareem beside other governmental personalities, political party member and house wives. The lecturer was Khaman Zarar, Kurdistan parleman member; she thanked WLI and appreciates its hard work to support NR project and woman initiative to spread culture for peace and forgiveness. It was attended by 26 person from woman organizations, civil society and some ministries, also attended by Dr. Shelan Muhamed. The lecturer was lawyer Kareem Bahry, member in Kurdistan parleman, he started his lecture by talking about NR and its importance, he thinks that NR is a political issue and it has nothing to do with women organizations but he confirmed that there is a real need to go round policy and follow it up to start from certain point in order to reach new principles and concepts to live with Media that covered the activity: Nawruz Radio and Kurdistany Nuy newspaper   Woman right insurance and the constitutional amendment Within the serial workshop that WLI is implementing, WLI has conducted a workshop in Baghdad on the hall of oil culture center under the line Iraqi woman right insurance and the constitutional amendment. Workshop started by welcoming participants and the lecturer .Dr. Ali Alhelaly. This activity was attended by 32 people. Dr. Ali started his lecture by: - Giving identification for the constitution. - Political right. - Freedom of travel, and living inside and outside Iraq.        Woman image in media WLI has conducted a workshop in Alarab Palace on July, 9, 2007 titled (Woman image in media). This workshop was attended by 40 people (30 f. and 10 m.) The lecturer was Mrs. Nahla Al- Nadawy, specialized in Gender and media. The activity lasted for four hours. Media that covered the activity (Al Salam T.V, Alnas Radio, Sawa Radio, Al Sabah and Al Destur newspapers). Dr. Tahseen Alshekhly the Civilian spokesman of the imposing Law plan has attended the workshop.         Krkuk Conference April/23/2007 WLI has conducted a conference in Krkuk governorate on April/23ed /2007. We invited 100 persons but when women know that WLI held a conference about Article 41 and Dr.Sundus  will be in this conference they insists to participate , so the participants were 212p. 131 females, 81 males. The conference was under the line Iraqi Woman Rights between Article 41 and the constitution. The lecturer was Dr. Sundus Abass Director of WLI. Dr. Jooan Ahmed member of provenance council Jug Talaat  Ezaat chef of Karkuk  court  Dr. Amel  Fakhr Aldeen   Deputy of Turkuman Front .It was covered by  Alhura Iraq Channel, Al Iraqia Channel, Al Sumareea  Channel, Al aalem  Chanel Iranen, Zakruus Channel , Kurdish, Al hureea  Channel ,Karkuk Channel, Trokumanlee Channel . Nine of the Governorate council members of Karkuk were attended even those Tree Arab members whom boycott the council. Leadership Training for Governorate Council members North and middle of Iraq 19-23 April, 2007 WLI has conducted Training in sulaimaniya governorate at Babylon hotel on April, 20, 2007. This activity was attended by 18 women , two ladies from each governorate ( Baghdad , Deyala, Saladdin , Anbar , Karkuk , Mousul , Erbil , Dohuk and , Sulaimaniya ) . The Training was under the line Leadership Training for Governorate Council members North and middle of Iraq. - Media didn’t cover this activity according to the participant's desire and for safety reasons because participants were political personalities. The trainer was WLI"S director Dr. Sundus Abass and her assistant Mr.Ahmed beside WLI"S three Facilitators: Fadaa from Sulaimaniya, Labeeb from Saladdin and Thaeer from Anbar. Najaf workshop April, 8, 2007  WLI has conducted a workshop in Najaf governorate on April, 8, 2007  regarding "woman's rights in the international treaties" . Baghdad workshop April, 10, 2007 Women Leadership Institute has conducted a workshop in Baghdad\Oil culture center on April, 10, 2007. This activity was attended by 23 person- 18   females and 5    males. The workshop was under the line "woman's Rights in the international treaties".  Basra workshop April, 1o, 2007 In cooperation with Alwathba secondary school WLI has conducted a workshop titled (woman's rights in the international treaties and its relation to the Iraqi constitution) .In Basra on April, 1o, 2007. Participants were 30 students. Amara Workshop April, 11, 2007 In cooperation  with youth and sport administration WLI  has conducted a workshop titled ( woman's rights in the international treaties)in Amara governorate on April,11,2007.The workshop that attended by 30 person. Babil workshop April, 11, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Babil /Hilla/Nader district on April, 11, 2007. The workshop was under the line "woman's Rights in the international treaties", this activity was attended by 30 person 27 females and 3 males. Mosal workshop April,12,2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Mosal / city center / Hall of Alrahma institution on April, 12, 2007. Wasit Workshop April, 14, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Wasit governorate / Kut /Wasit University, education college English department hall, on April, 14, 2007. This activity was attended by 30 women.   Erbil Workshop April, 16, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Erbil governorate culture center hall\Dyakuna org. on April, 16, 2007. This activity was attended by 26 person 21 females and 5 males. The workshop was under the line "woman's rights in the international treaties".   Dewaniya workshop April, 16, 2007 WLI has conducted a workshop in Dewaniya/Auruba, Alhasanain on April, 16, 2007.
